Terms of service
Last updated: October 27, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to culinaryjochef.com (the "Site") and to every purchase you make on it. The Site is operated by BSD Trade LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company doing business as Jo Chef ("Jo Chef", "we", "us" or "our"). By using the Site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
Please read Section 13 carefully. It requires most disputes to be resolved by individual arbitration and waives class actions and jury trials, unless you opt out within 30 days.
1. Who may buy
You must be at least 18 years old to buy from us. Butane fuel, and torch or stove sets that include butane, are sold only to adults 18 or older. By placing an order you confirm that you are 18 or older. We may cancel any order we believe was placed by a minor.
2. Orders, prices and availability
We sell to customers in the United States only. Prices, products and availability may change without notice. We may limit quantities and may refuse or cancel any order, for example because of a pricing or listing error, suspected fraud, resale, or a shipping restriction. If we cancel an order after you have paid, we refund you in full. We accept your order when we ship it.
3. Shipping and fuel restrictions
Butane fuel is a regulated hazardous material. It ships by ground only, within the contiguous United States, and cannot ship to California, Alaska, Hawaii, US territories or APO/FPO addresses. Details are in our Shipping Policy. Risk of loss passes to you when the carrier delivers your order.
4. Returns and refunds
Returns and refunds are handled under our Returns Policy. Never mail butane fuel, or a torch that contains fuel, back to us.
5. Product safety and your responsibility
Our torches, butane fuel and camping stove use flammable gas and produce an open flame and high heat. Before use, read and follow the instructions and warnings that come with the product and in our Safety Center. Use each product only for its intended purpose and as instructed, keep products and fuel away from children, heat and open flame, and never modify a product. You are responsible for using our products safely. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for injury, loss or damage caused by misuse, modification, failure to follow the instructions or warnings, or use with incompatible fuel or equipment.
6. Limited Warranty
Jo Chef torches and the Jo Chef Camping Stove come with a 12-month Limited Warranty when you register the product on our site within 30 days of purchase. Butane fuel is not covered. The Limited Warranty describes your remedies for covered defects.
TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES ON PRODUCTS COVERED BY THE LIMITED WARRANTY, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE 12-MONTH TERM OF THE LIMITED WARRANTY. FOR ALL OTHER PRODUCTS AND FOR THE SITE, AND TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE PROVIDE THEM "AS IS" AND DISCLAIM ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES. Some states do not allow limits on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion of implied warranties, so these limits may not apply to you. You may also have other rights that vary from state to state.
7. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JO CHEF AND ITS OWNERS, MANAGERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS AND SUPPLIERS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS OR DATA, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SITE, OUR PRODUCTS OR THESE TERMS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO A PRODUCT, THE SITE OR THESE TERMS IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE PRODUCT THAT IS THE SUBJECT OF THE CLAIM. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. Some states do not allow these exclusions or limits, so they may not apply to you.
8. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Jo Chef and its owners, managers, employees and agents from any claim, loss or expense, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of your misuse of our products, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
9. Site content and trademarks
The Site and its content, including text, photos, videos, graphics and design, belong to Jo Chef or its licensors and are protected by law. Jo Chef® is a registered trademark. You may view the Site for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, reproduce, sell or use our content or trademarks without our written permission.
10. Your submissions
If you send us reviews, photos, questions or other content, you confirm that it is truthful, that you have the right to share it, and that it is lawful. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, edit and display it in connection with our business. We may remove any content at our discretion.
11. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Site for any unlawful purpose, to place fraudulent orders, to interfere with or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, to introduce malicious code, or to scrape or collect data from the Site by automated means. We may suspend or block access for anyone who violates these Terms.
12. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal information. Depending on where you live, you can opt out of certain data sharing on our Your Privacy Choices page.
13. Dispute resolution, arbitration and class action waiver
Informal resolution first. If you have a dispute with us, email support@culinaryjochef.com with your name, order number and a description of the issue. We will try to resolve it informally within 30 days. Neither party may start arbitration or a court case until that 30-day period has passed.
Binding individual arbitration. Except as stated below, any dispute or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms, the Site, our products or any purchase ("Dispute") will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, available at www.adr.org. The arbitrator, and not a court, decides all issues, including the scope and enforceability of this section, except as stated under "Class action and jury trial waiver". Arbitration may be held by video, by phone, based on written submissions, or in person in the county where you live. Payment of filing and arbitration fees will be governed by the AAA's Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitrator may award the same individual relief a court could award.
Exceptions. Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court instead of arbitration, as long as the claim stays there and is not removed or appealed to a court of general jurisdiction. Either party may also ask a court for an injunction to stop the misuse of its intellectual property.
Class action and jury trial waiver. You and Jo Chef agree that each may bring claims against the other only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate claims of more than one person. You and Jo Chef each waive the right to a jury trial. If this class action waiver is found unenforceable for a particular claim, then this Section 13 does not apply to that claim, and that claim will be decided by a court.
30-day opt-out. You may opt out of this Section 13 by emailing support@culinaryjochef.com within 30 days after you first accept these Terms, with the subject line "Arbitration opt-out" and your name and email address. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.
14. Governing law and venue
The Federal Arbitration Act governs Section 13. Otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to its conflict of laws rules, except that consumer protection laws of your state of residence that cannot be waived still apply. Any Dispute that is not subject to arbitration will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, except for individual claims in small claims court in your county of residence.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated Terms take effect when posted on this page, with a new "Last updated" date, and apply to orders placed and use of the Site after that date. Changes do not apply to a Dispute that arose before the change was posted.
16. General
These Terms, together with the policies linked above, are the entire agreement between you and Jo Chef about the Site and your purchases. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce any part of these Terms is not a waiver. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including carrier delays, weather, or supply disruptions. We may assign these Terms; you may not assign them without our written consent.
